Episode guide

We are putting together an episode guide with links to all of our episodes here. This will be periodically updated over the next several months as we get all of the names gathered. It is quite likely that at some point, all of the Israel Keyes case episodes, along with the interviews we have used and more, will be split off of the main feed and turned into their own subscription only feed.

In a later episode, John mentions that he believes Keyes’ first murder victim is Gregory David White. We also mention the couple Terry Palm and Angela Walsh as a possible Keyes case.

Our first 24 episodes were about Israel Keyes. We explore the possibilities of likely and unlikely arsons, bank robberies, missing persons cases and unsolved homicides that might be attached to Israel Keyes. Other cases mentioned with Israel Keyes story are listed in this block:

Episode One: Bill and Lorraine Currier, Holly Bobo, Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone, Maura Murray and Brianna Maitland. Additionally mentioned are Suzanne Lyle, Amy Wroe Bechtel, Jennifer Kessee and Samantha Koenig.

The Hosts

There is always something out there.

It all started when…

John and Meg started podcasting by accident when John really, really, really wanted to tell a story about Israel Keyes and continue looking into the mysterious possible serial killer. In the wake of other popular shows, John reached out to his favorite sibling and asked if she had heard of some cases he wanted to request files on. Meg had been obsessed with matching up unidentified human remains with missing persons and also wanted to get a PhD studying the behaviors of American Mushroom hunters who always seem to be stumbling across dead bodies. It began with looking for missing people like Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone, then spilled over to Brianna Maitland, Maura Murray, William Ewasko and Clint Bobo. From there, it just spiraled out of control until John settled on the likely first victim being Gregory David White and identified the first couple as likely being Angela Walsh and Terry Palm (unconfirmed). From there, they took a look at famous serial killers and killers you’ve never heard of from Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy to Bobby Joe Long and Bobby Jack Fowler. True Crime XS is a sprawling affair that happens when Meg is not raising her kids or chickens and when John is not working on other creative projects. If you want to hear the latest in true crime news, this is a great place to dive deep into the Bryan Kohberger murder trial or the Long Island Serial Killer arrest of Rex Heuermann or the arrest of Richard Allen in the Delphi Killings of Liberty German and Abigail Williams. No banter, no frills, very little laughter or chuckling, this is the best place to hear theories about Jeffrey Dahmer, Ottis Toole, Henry Lucas, Adam Walsh, Investigative or Forensic Genetic Genealogy, unsolved murders, cold cases and breaking true crime news. From hoaxes to unusual deaths, John and Meg search for logical conclusions about Jeffrey MacDonald, Diane Schuler, Suzanne Morphew, Natalie Holloway and other cases bringing you things that don’t fit into the main stream narrative of 48 Hours, Dateline, Unsolved Mysteries, and all of your favorite Court TV, HLN, Newsnation, Discovery Plus and Oxygen show coverage. What’s been left out? You’ll find the search for those things right here on True Crime XS.

“True Crime XS came from a time I wanted to listen to some type of crime talk show and there wasn’t anything like this out there. I started it with the Israel Keyes story and that was really to see if I could do it. And obviously, I did. Meg came on board because she was really the more research-oriented and focused one of the two of us. I figured out how to make it into episodes but she did a huge amount of the work. She agreed that it would make sense to do our own kind of show in the form of a podcast. We are both creative people. We are always working on something individually and this was one of the things we did together and I’m very proud of it. It’s something that we stuck to because we like doing the work and we liked sharing it. It’s amazing to watch the audience grow and we know we are not the show for everyone. But the people who really love it and tell us, that’s one of our favorite things. It feels really good to know that there are other people like you that just want to come on the journey with you. That’s really what True Crime XS means to me. - John”
